***A Special Message from One of Our Tutors***

"Rosemary", one of our tutors, sent our Program Coordinators this special message:

"I want to let you know that "Tanya" (Rosemary's student) has begun English 101, Biology and Math at Orange County Community College.  She has worked so hard to get to this point!  I am soooo proud of her.  If she passes her classes this fall, she will be continuing at Orange County Community College for a few years.  As of now, she wants to be put on "leave" from Literacy; she has absolutely no free time.  This has been such a wonderful, rewarding experience for me to watch her progress.  My only regreat is th that I didn't do this earlier in Life!!!"

GREAT JOB ROSEMARY AND TANYA!

Please join us and have a rewarding experience like Rosemary...don't make the same mistake and wait..do it now!

    Reading Impacts Communities

In the United States 1 in 5 American adults is functionally illiterate. That is more than 40 million people that can not read a bedtime story to their child, or read the directions on a medicine bottle.

Literate populations are more likely to develop economically, live healthier lives, and be more peaceful.

Promote positive community environments for literacy.

Increase access to adult learning programs for both men and women.

Reduce barriers to literacy.
